Attorney General"s Office Warns of Spreading Information on the Disappearance of Mahir Abdullayev
The Press Office of the General Prosecutor's Office commented on the progress of the criminal investigation into the disappearance in October 2003 of the brother of the former Rector of the International University Elshad Abdullayev, Mahir Abdullayev.
The spokesman Eldar Sultanov, recalling the creation of a new investigative task force of the Attorney General, said that it "developed various versions and investigative actions necessary." He noted that, at this stage of the investigation promotion of its details is against the interest of the investigation.
"It is therefore unacceptable to disclose information constituting secrecy of the investigation," Sultanov said.
Note that in recent years being abroad, Elshad Abdullayev distributed on the Internet and in the media materials affirming the kidnapping of his brother, and the involvement of a number of high-ranking officials in law enforcement and other government agencies. He also threatened to extend the video evidence of this.
A videotape statement of a former employee of the 7th department of the Interior Ministry has already appeared on the Internet. Referring to his boss, he claimed that Mahir Abdullayev after his disappearance was contained in the department for fighting organized crime. -04D06 -
