Authorities Want to Reduce Attempt on Head Executive of Ganja to Ordinary Crime
Baku / 04.07.18 / Turan: The authorities of the country are trying to present yesterday's attempt on the head of the executive power of Ganja Elmar Veliyev, as usual crime. This is how the main ideologist of the country, Ali Hasanov, said, arguing that there was a "usual crime" and there is "no need to worry".
The authorities do not want to see or pretend that they do not see the sharp discontent of the population of the second most important city of the country by the tyranny and rudeness of the head executive of Ganja.
Proud Ganja residents have long been complaining about Veliyev, who publicly insults people, violates their property rights and tramples on their human dignity.
Such behavior sharply contradicts the principles of the head of state who repeatedly called for and demanded from state officials to respect the rights of citizens and promised to punish those who behave rudely and irresponsibly.
"Why does not Ilham Aliyev see rudeness of Elmar Veliyev, why is he not punished or dismissed? Or is Ilham Aliyev saying this formally?" Ganja people complain.
One of the residents, who asked not to be named, told Turan the reason for the attempt on Veliyev was precisely his boorish, to put it mildly, behavior towards citizens. So, some time ago a local resident addressed him about his problem, but Veliyev yelled, cursed and kicked the pregnant woman out of his office. The one who shot Veliyev and his guard was the brother of that same woman.
Ganja people have always been proud and fearless. Therefore, what happened to the tycoon Veliyev, sooner or later should have happened.
If the authorities are not smart enough to draw conclusions from this, the events of Ismayilli and Guba can be repeated in Ganja. -02B-

Azerbaijan is positioning itself as a key energy partner for Europe amidst growing challenges in the natural gas market following the cessation of Russian gas transit through Ukraine. The disruption, marking the end of a decade-long transit route, is expected to heighten competition in the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) market and drive up prices for alternative energy sources.
