Azerbaijan imposes restrictions on the export of a number of food products
Baku/19.03.22/Turan: The Azerbaijani government has imposed restrictions on the export of a number of food products from the country. In particular, the export of grain, meat and meat products, milk and dairy products, butter and vegetable oils, raw materials for sugar production and sugar production and other food products from the customs territory of Azerbaijan will be regulated until December 31, 2022.
This is provided for by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On measures to regulate the export of a number of basic food products that are part of the minimum consumer basket, and goods used in their production" dated 18 March.
According to the document, the export of these goods from the customs territory will be carried out on the basis of a positive conclusion of the Ministry of Economy, taking into account the stocks available in the country.
This decision is aimed at preventing "the possible negative impact of recent events on the supply of Azerbaijan with basic food products and the country's food security."
“Due to climate change and recent geopolitical processes, there has been a steady increase in prices for basic food products on world markets, as well as problems in the logistics and supply chain of these goods to the markets of neighboring countries,” the Cabinet of Ministers said in a resolution. -03B06-
