Baku Appreciates Statement of Iranian Leadership on Karabakh Conflict
Baku / 04.11.20 / Turan: The Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan highly appreciated the statement of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Seyid Ali Khamenei on the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict and support for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
“The Supreme Leader, having said that all the territories of Azerbaijan occupied by Armenia should be liberated and returned to Azerbaijan, confirmed the strong support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the legitimate position of Azerbaijan based on international law. We appreciate the efforts of the friendly Iranian state to resolve the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, including the visit to the region of the Special Envoy of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Deputy Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Aragchi and the initiative to resolve the conflict as soon as possible,” the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.
Baku believes that “the relations between the two countries, based on historical roots, will continue to develop successfully and serve to ensure peace, stability and prosperity in the region.” - 06B-
