Chatham House removed from the agenda the issue on Sahakyan

In the "Events"  unit of the  Chatham House  site, the British Royal Institute of International Affairs  there is no information on the speech  of Bako Sahakyan, the head of the separatist Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan,  previously  scheduled for  8 July. At the invitation of Chatham House Sahakyan was supposed to speak on the topic of the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh, regional security and relations between the different  subject.

On 1 July the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry put forward  the protest of the government  due to inviting by the Royal Institute of International Affairs Chatham House the  leader of Karabakh separatists, Bako Saakyan, to London.

The statement of the  Foreign Ministry reads that  such actions do not correspond to the spirit of friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries, and are regarded as a step directed against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

In turn, the official London distanced itself from the actions of Chatham House, noting that the United Kingdom does not recognize the self-proclaimed "Nagorno Karabakh Republic", and the British government has no contact with any of its  representatives.

Chatham House declined to comment on the written request of Turan agency about the lack of  the announce on the  speech  of Sahakyan in the «Events».
