The health of one of the wounded in the explosion in Shirvan is critical (UPDATED)
Nineteem people were taken to the central hospital because of the explosion at the plant "Telemekhanika" of the Defense Ministry in the city of Shirvan. According to a source in the hospital, six of the injured have serious burns, the health of one of them is critical; nine people have been reported with varying degrees of poisoning. Seven of them after outpatient care were released. The rest of the victims were hospitalized with various injuries.
As a result of today's explosion one person died.
The city prosecutor's office told Turan news agency that a lawsuit has not been filed yet. Experts and criminologists work on the site. The question of instituting proceedings will be reviewed after their conclusion, said a spokesman for the prosecutor's office. Today in the morning there was an explosion in the telecom and mechanical plant of the Ministry of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan in the city of Shirvan (120 km from Baku).
According to the Ministry of Health, 19 people were injured. Their condition is characterized as medium and light. All the victims were hospitalized with a diagnosis of poisoning and burn of the lungs. At the scene there are five ambulances working. According to unofficial information, one person was killed. The fact is under investigation. In total, the company employs 245 people.
The Ministry of Defense Industry reported that there was a "work accident", without specifying the details. -16D-
