Consultations between Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan and Russian Federation
Yesterday the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin held consultations at the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry during his working visit to Baku.
He held talks with Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov and was received by the Minister Elmar Mammadyarov. During the talks with Azerbaijani partners topical issues of bilateral and international agenda and issues of the Karabakh settlement were discussed.
According to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting Karasin said the efforts aimed at urgently settling the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict will be continued in the future. According to him, effective measures to resolve the conflict will be supported.
However, the deputy minister said the issues of regional security are based on mutual trust at the highest level.
Grigory Karasin said that relations between the two countries are developing in all spheres and regular contacts between officials contribute to the solution of issues on the agenda.
It is reported that in 2017 Moscow will host the event on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, to which the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Mammadyarov is invited.
In turn, the Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov noted the presence of co-operation between the two countries in all spheres, particularly in the political, economic, military-technical, humanitarian, agricultural and others. Deputy Minister also touched upon the importance of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, the participation of Russian companies in the oil and gas projects in Azerbaijan.
Khalafov stressed the importance of enhancing the technical capabilities of border customs checkpoints for the development of bilateral relations between the two countries and to increase trade. He expressed confidence that after the start of operation of corridors East-West and North-South transportation between the countries of the region will increase many times.
During the meeting they also discussed the negotiations in order to determine the right status of the Caspian, cooperation within international organizations with the purpose of mutual support and coordination of positions. -03D06--
