Iranian Embassy: Charge against us is a lie
The Iranian embassy in Baku issued a statement refuting the allegations of transfer of money to activists of the Movement "REAL". "Once again, we have witnessed a revival of Iranophobia in Azerbaijan, and unwillingness of certain forces to strengthen and improve the Iranian-Azerbaijani relations", reads the statement. In particular, the Iranian embassy is unhappy with the publications in the media and the campaign of accusations against the Iranian diplomat, who allegedly gave the money to the needs of the opposition government organization.
Meeting with Iranian diplomat was "open and in accordance with the diplomatic activity," noted in the document. It is remarkable that media which wrote about the meeting did not react to a similar meeting of representatives of other diplomatic missions in Baku with the same organization. The talk is about the visit the Iranian diplomat to the office of the “REAL” Movement on January 27, and the conversation with its leadership. Several days later, Eynulla Fatullayev wrote on his website that the Iranian diplomat handed the money to "REAL".
This caused a ground to the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office to start an investigation, and summoning every day members of the "REAL" for interrogation.
It is odd that the prosecution had not guessed to summon for interrogation Fatullayev and ask him where from he got this information. -16D-
