Iranian journalists quit apologizing for 13 years of lying
Baku/14.01.20/Turan: At least three Iranian journalists working in the state information service apologized to the audience for “13 years of lies” and announced their departure from the media, FoxNews reports.
The layoffs occurred amid protests in Tehran caused by the destruction of the Ukrainian airliner.
One of the Iranian journalists before leaving published on Instagram an apology that was later deleted. “It was very difficult for me to believe that our people were killed ... Forgive me for the 13 years that I lied,” the publication said.
Later, two more TV presenters made similar statements.
“I will never return to television. I cannot continue my work in the media. Forgive me,” wrote another TV presenter.-16D-
