Jamil Hasanli"s U.S. Meetings
During his visit to the United States, Jamil Hasanli, former presidential candidate of the National Council continues meetings in Washington D.C.
Yesterday he met with Paige Alexander, deputy head of the USAID Bureau for Europe and Asia. The theme of the talks was the situation with democracy and its prospects, the issue of political prisoners, the situation in the country after the presidential elections, the activities of the National Council, the state of the press, as well as the activities of USAID in Azerbaijan.
Jamil Hasanli met with Azerbaijani students from Boston, New York and other U.S. cities, as well as with members of the Azerbaijani community. They discussed the situation in Azerbaijan and the activities of the community.
Hasanli met with former U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Kozlarich and they discussed bilateral relations. Hasanli's visit will last until November 23. -03D04-

Shamshad Aga, editor of the "Argument.az" website, has been found guilty in the Meydan TV case of smuggling (Article 206.3.2 of the Criminal Code) and sentenced to two months and one day in detention. The decision was made on February 6 by the Khatai District Court of Baku, as reported by Turan, citing his lawyer, Shahla Humbatova.
