Mayoralty Refuses to Answer Officers
Baku Executive Power has not replied to the NGO Reserve and Retired Officers on the harmonization of the social organization of pickets on March 9 opposite the Ministry of Justice and the home of Defense Minister Safar Abiyev to protest the non-execution of court decisions on restoration of the rights of military personnel.
The rally is planned at 15.00 opposite the Ministry of Justice and at 17.00 in front of Abiyev’s house.
As the head of the NGO Yashar Jafarli said the City Council did not answer by the evening of March 8.
According to him, if the City Hall does not answer positively on Saturday, the action will not take place.
"We will not do any unauthorized action. We are against illegal actions, because fighting lawlessness, we cannot violate the laws ourselves," said Jafarli.
At the same time, he said, if the City Council does not give an answer or does not accept the action, the NGO will sue the Executive Power of the city.
However, there will be new applications for pickets.
"We will not stop our struggle for the restoration of the rights of servicemen," said Jafarli.
The NGO tries to cause the Ministry of Defense to enforce 17 judgments, including 13 for the payment of compensation to officers for not used leave and allowances for serving in the war zone. -06B-
