Mehman Kerimli: a group of attackers is led from the side
Mehman Kerimli, representative of the press office of "Musavat" party told Turan about the details of Sunday's incident in Lankaran, where a group of persons attacked the delegation of the party members headed by its leader, Isa Gambar.
"I kept shooting when a group of men and women attacked us. They began to throw me and the other delegation members eggs, and then some teenagers began to throw sticks. They obviously tried to get on my hands to knock the camera out of my hands," he said. Then two athletic-looking guys ran up and dragged me to the side.
"When I showed them a press card, the athletes started yelling and insulting me, and then dragged me and put him in a jeep standing near. In the car was a man, and I was actually locked up with him for about an hour, and was questioned who he was and why he arrived. The camera was taken away and returned in an hour, and demanded to go away immerdiately," said the reporter.
By the time of the liberation the delegation of "Musavat" already gone, and Kerimli had to go back himself by bus. -05B04-
