
Minsk and Baku strengthen military-technical cooperation
Baku / 09.10.17 / Turan: On October 9, the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, received Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov, discussing the prospects for cooperation in the military-technical field, the website of the President of Belarus.
The head of state noted that Belarus and Azerbaijan continue cooperation, including in the military-technical sphere. "I do not want to justify to anybody the nature of our cooperation, I just want to say one thing that our relations are in no way violated by any international treaty, not one resolution of the Security Council and the United Nations as a whole." We are a sovereign independent state, and we have the right to determine those areas of cooperation that correspond to the spirit of the times, the requests of our states," Lukashenko said.
The head of Belarus noted that Minsk is ready to help Azerbaijan, so that Azerbaijan feels calm. "Therefore, we are working with you in this regard and will continue to work," he added.
Earlier, the defense ministers of Azerbaijan and Belarus signed a plan of bilateral cooperation for 2018. The ministers held a wide exchange of views on international and regional security issues, organization of mutual visits of military experts, as well as on issues of mutual interest, the official statement said. -02D-
