MPs are outraged with rising food prices
At the meeting of the Milli Mejlis on February 14 the MP Ali Masimli expressed indignation at the fact that the fall of the dollar in recent days, did not affect the prices. "Every day, food prices are rising, despite the dollar depreciates against the manat. It is necessary to expose the speculators and monopolists. The rise in prices is contrary to the state. Prices for oil, sugar, meat does not fall, and vice versa. When manat became cheaper, and the dollar rose in price, dealers said that they had to raise the price of imports. And what happens now? This issue should be a serious intervention, we need immediate action," he said. The MP Faraj Guliyev supported his colleague, noting that these processes can lead to social upheaval. In recent weeks in Azerbaijan, the dollar fell by 19 or 10% to manat. -16D04-
