Elman Guliyev’s Health Worsened on Third Day of Hunger Strike
Baku / 29.02.20 / Turan: The blood pressure at the head of the youth organization of the Musavat party, Elman Guliyev, sharply dropped, and doctors advised him to stop the hunger strike, which he had been holding for the third day. This was reported to Turan by the head of the press service of the Musavat party Mustafa Hajibayli.
Guliyev was summoned to the Binagadi district prosecutor’s office on the morning of February 29 to clarify his complaint, Hajibeyli said.
"During a protest rally on February 16, Elman Guliyev was detained with force, was taken away by bus along with other protesters to Gobustan and released there. As a result of violence, Guliyev was injured in the back and still has pain. Despite the complaint he filed about the police actions on February 18, only now, after he began a hunger strike, he was summoned to the prosecutor’s office,” Hajibayli said.
According to Hajibayli, Guliyev testified at the prosecutor’s office and then he was sent for a medical examination. “All this, apparently, had a bad effect on his condition. When he returned to the party’s headquarters to continue the rally, he suddenly felt ill, his eyes darkened. We called an ambulance. As it turned out, his pressure dropped sharply - to the index of 90 to 60. Doctors gave him medicine and advised him to stop the action. But Elman decided to continue the action," Hajibeyli further noted.
According to him, the condition of another activist Israfil, who is on a hunger strike for the second day, is satisfactory.
