PFPA Activist Questioned by Police Because of Status on Facebook
A Board member of the Youth Committee of the Popular Front Party Nurana Suleymanzade was summoned to the Surakhani District Police Office on 30 July. There the deputy head of the office made her an oral warning about the inadmissibility of criticism of the authorities on Facebook.
"I was called by the deputy chief of the district police and warned not to make publications associated with Ganimat Zahid, Emin Milli and Natig Adilov. After that I was released," she told Turan.
The day before at 21:00, police officers came to the place of the PFPA activist and asked her parents of her political position and the publication in support of Emin Milli the day before.
In this article the activist complained about lawlessness of the authorities, the pressure on Emin Milli for his journalistic work, and falsified drug charges against his brother Nazim Agabekov.
The activist also expressed indignation at the actions of the authorities against the relatives of other famous journalists Ganimat Zahid, and Natig Adilov.
"President Ilham Aliyev constantly claims to have provided the freedom of the press and expression. Those who did not see the political period of 1937 can see its continuation in 2015.
Now, for the realization of the freedom of expression and speech people are threatened and their families are subjected to mental torture," the activist wrote. -03B-
