President Signs Decree on Baskal Reserve
Baku / 03.10.18 / Turan: President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the Baskal State Historical and Cultural Reserve on Oct. 3. According to it, the State Agency of Tourism was instructed to prepare a detailed reference on the results of the study of the situation in the Baskal Reserve.
The Agency should also prepare and submit to the President a draft concept on long-term protection, conservation and restoration of the reserve, as well as an activity program.
The agency is also tasked to prepare proposals for the protection of the reserve in accordance with international standards.
The State Historical and Cultural Reserve Baskal was established in 1989. It is indicated in the order that the historical and cultural monuments that are currently on the territory of the reserve need restoration, conservation and reconstruction works.
On September 26, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the establishment of the Gyzylagaj National Park. Its creation is planned on the basis of the State Natural Reserve Gyzylagaj.
According to the document, the expansion of specially protected natural areas aims to preserve biodiversity, the efficient use of natural resources and the development of ecotourism. --0-----
