Presidents of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia Adopt Joint Statement
The Presidents of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, Vladimir Putin, Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev noted the achievement of mutual understanding on a number of issues that will allow the lead to progress in the Karabakh settlement.
"We noted the achievement of mutual understanding on a number of issues that will create the conditions for progress in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," said the joint statement of the leaders issued after today's meeting in St. Petersburg.
The Presidents of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed to give additional impetus to the settlement in Nagorno-Karabakh, in turn, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the results of the negotiations of Vladimir Putin, Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan, RIA Novosti reported.
"Besides the fact that we have outlined specific steps to intensify the negotiating process, the Presidents agreed on a tripartite declaration reaffirming their commitment to normalize the situation on the contact line, providing their consent to increase in the number of OSCE monitors, who work in the zone of conflict, and expressing commitment to create the conditions for steady progress in the negotiations on the political settlement of the conflict," said the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
