Putin Canceled His Visit to Armenia?
Yerevan/20.09.12/Turan-ArmInfo: The subject of the postponement of the visit of the Russian President Vladimir Putin to Armenia, which, according to the head of the CIS Institute Konstantin Zatulin, was to be held in September within the CSTO international military exercises, is actively discussed in the Armenian media.
Earlier, the head of the Institute of CIS, member of the Single Russia Party, Zatulin said: ''The whole world is agog with the Middle East. In the center of the world's news flash there is Syria, and there is little doubt that there will be subsequent attempts to destabilize the situation in Iran, and all this is against the background of the persistent attempts of the USA to strengthen its position in the Middle East. But even in such a situation, the President of Russia expressed readiness to take part in the CSTO maneuvers in Armenia in upcoming September." Zatulin stressed that this visit will be public and the work for its organization is already underway.
Asked by ArmInfo to comment on the situation, the spokesman for the Armenian Foreign Ministry Tigran Balayan said: "The Foreign Ministry of Armenia has never officially announced the forthcoming visit of the President of Russia to Armenia." -02D-
