"REAL" stopped the collection of signatures for the referendum campaign
REAL Movement stopped a campaign to collect signatures in connection with the forthcoming referendum. Today we say 'no' to the Constitution, not only changes, but also to the referendum, said at the press conference today at the Movement's office a member of the Board Azer Gasimli. According to him, "REAL" recognizes neither the referendum, nor the legitimacy of its outcome.
About the reasons for this, Gasimli noted that REAL appealed to the CEC, which was registered, and took signature sheets. Immediately after that were arrested the executive secretary Natig Jafarli, and two other activists. In addition, the "REAL" produced 100 000 flyers, which were also confiscated by the police.
Another member of the Board of "REAL" Erkin Gadirli said the changes to the constitution will break parity in terms of the division of power in the country and create chaos. With regard to the provision of the President to dissolve the Parliament Committees powers, appointment as Vice-President, that it is contrary to the existing constitution.
Then Azer Gasimli read a letter from the convicted leader of "REAL" Ilgar Mamedov that the referendum "will shake the foundation" of the republic, and it will affect every citizen.
As for future activities of "REAL", in late September, the Movement will be ready to move to the implementation of the Party Congress. "REAL" is open to cooperation with other political forces, the absolute falsehood is widespread in the media accusation that "REAL" serves the foreign interest, Gadirli said. -03C04-
