Split in the Public Chamber over European Parliament Resolution
A final decision on the resignation of the Coordinating Council of the Public Chamber has not been made, Panah Hussein told Turan, commenting on the articles in today's press.
Several media outlets reported today that Panah Hussein, Zafar Guliyev and Kochari Naghibeyli resigned from the Council because their views were ignored regarding condemnation of the European Parliament resolution condemning Azerbaijan for pardoning Ramil Safarov.
In particular, the above-named persons and other members of the Council consider wrong the criticism of the resolution, which condemns the policy of the Azerbaijani authorities. Therefore, they consider wrong the Musavat and Popular Front parties' joining the statement made by the ruling party condemning the European Parliament's resolution.
According to Panah Hussein, the issue will be discussed at a special meeting of the Public Chamber on September 21. -05B-
