Tension in Karabakh

Baku / 13.12.18 / Turan: In the last 24 hours, serious tension arose in Nagorno-Karabakh. This was manifested in the fact that the so-called commander of the Karabakh forces Levon Mnatsakanyan resigned. He took this step after receiving an order from Yerevan not to issue daily reports of shelling from the Azerbaijani side and not to respond to the attacks of the enemy. This is reported by Armenian users in social networks.

Later, the Armenian media confirmed that the decree on the release of Mnatsakanyan was issued, but not signed. Officials in Karabakh do not confirm or deny that.

According to unofficial data, the demand to dismiss Mnatsakanyan came from Yerevan, but Bako Sahakyan did not support this idea.

Meanwhile, there were reports of the resignation of the head of the so-called Security Council of Karabakh, Vitaly Balasanyan, and a number of other soldiers, dissatisfied with Yerevan"s decision regarding Mnatsakanyan.

There were also reports of protest rallies in Karabakh demanding the release of Robert Kocharian arrested in Yerevan.

Mnatsakanyan himself refuted the information that he himself wrote a letter of withdrawal for health reasons. "I did not write any statements," Mnatsakanyan told reporters. -02D-
