The Constitutional Court declares Ilham Aliyev the president for the next five years
On Saturday the Constitutional Court confirmed the protocol of CEC on the results of the presidential elections on October 9. The Constitutional Court announced the current head of state, chairman of the "Yeni Azerbaijan" party as President Ilham Aliyev for the next five years. Ilham Aliyev won 84.54 % of the vote.
The Constitutional Court stated that the presidential candidate Iqbal Aghazadeh won 88,723, 2.40 , Ilham Aliyev - 3,126,113 84.54, Araz Alizadeh - 32069 0.87, Hafiz Hajiyev - 24461 0.66 , Gudret Hasanguliev - 73702 1.99 ; Jamil Hasanli - 204642 5.53; Ilyas Ismailov - 39722 107; Faraj Guliyev - 31926 0.86; Sardar Mammadov - 22773 0.62; and Zahid Oruj - 53,839 1.46 of votes.
The candidate from the National Council of Democratic Forces, Jamil Hasanli, also attended the plenum of the Constitutional Court. He asked the chairman for a word , but the CC chairman Farhad Abdullayev refused, citing the fact that Jamil Hasanli was not a party to the plenum. After that Jamil Hasanli left the plenum.
Ilham Aliyev was elected president for the third time. On October 15, 2003 he was elected as president, gaining 76 % of the vote. In the election for presidency in 2008, Ilham Aliyev won 88.73 % of votes.
The National Council disputes the results of the election , qualifying them as fraud. The observation mission of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and the OSCE in the primary report recognized the elections undemocratic and unfair. -03C04-

Shamshad Aga, editor of the "Argument.az" website, has been found guilty in the Meydan TV case of smuggling (Article 206.3.2 of the Criminal Code) and sentenced to two months and one day in detention. The decision was made on February 6 by the Khatai District Court of Baku, as reported by Turan, citing his lawyer, Shahla Humbatova.
