The European Parliament adopted a resolution on October 23 on the European Neighbourhood Policy , which expressed the need to restore the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
In particular, the 12th paragraph resolution notes that the occupation by one state - party to the "Eastern Partnership " of the EU of the territory of another member state of the program is a violation of the fundamental principles and objectives of the "Eastern Partnership " .
It is particularly noted that the Nagorno- Karabakh conflict should be resolved on the basis of the adopted in 1993 by the UN Security Council Resolutions No. 822 , 853 , 874 and 884 and the basic principles of the OSCE Minsk Group , as reflected in L'Aquila joint statement, the leaders of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group ( United States, France and Russia ) from July 10, 2009 .
"Recalls its position that the occupation by one country of the Eastern Partnership of the territory of another violates the fundamental principles and objectives of the Eastern Partnership and that the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should comply with UN Security Council resolutions 822 , 853, 874 and 884 of 1993 and the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group Basic Principles, enshrined in the L'Aquila joint statement of 10 July 2009 "
