The meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan may take place in Kiev
Armenian Foreign Minister, Edward Nalbandian, believes that meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan may take place in Kiev on 5 December. He said about it at a press conference in Yerevan.
During the meeting of the two presidents in Vienna they instructed their foreign ministers to use the first opportunity for a meeting to promote the settlement of the conflict.
"The first such opportunity will open in Kiev during a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OSCE, where the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan is planned. We try as much as possible to promote negotiations. Of course, it is important that both sides have a desire to resolve the conflict. But it is also important that the parties had a realistic approach to the settlement. Such a realistic approach may be based on the proposals and principles of the co-chairs, contained in the declarations adopted at the presidential level," said Nalbandian. He also stressed that Armenia supports the proposals and principles noted in these statements, and is committed to exclusively peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict. According to the minister, if Azerbaijan will also keep to this approach, it will be possible to advance the negotiation process and approach to conflict resolution.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has not confirmed the meeting with Nalbandian Mammadyarov. -02D-
