Three thousand soldiers arrives to the 102 base of Russia in Armenia
Yerevan/20.11.13/Turan-ArmInfo: Public events to acclimatize recruits of the autumn draft are taking place at the Russian military base stationed in Armenia. According to the press service of the Southern Military District, about 3,000 young soldiers arrived in Armenia from Russia.
To improve adaptation in high altitude areas and prevention of seasonal diseases , military doctors conduct an in-depth examination of the personnel. Vaccination is going on to prevent the seasonal incidence of soldiers in Yerevan and Gumri garrisons.
So far, the total number of militarists at the 102nd base ranged from 3,000 to 5,000. A couple of months ago, the base command reported an increase in personnel, and therefore the Armenians living in the military camps were deported. Thus, at present the number of personnel exceed the previous figures.
In recent months, the military- political leadership of Russia has also taken other steps to strengthen the base of 102 , including the deployment of new types of weapons.
The logical extension of this process became scandalous statement of the 102 base’s commander Colonel Ruzinsky, that the base will take part on the side of Armenia if Azerbaijan tries to restore its sovereignty over Nagorno-Karabakh. -02D-
