Vagif Khachatryan sentenced to 15 years in prison /UPDATED/
Baku/07.11.23 /Turan: The Baku military court sentenced Vagif Khachatryan, accused of mass murder in the village of Hindered to 15 years in prison. According to the verdict of the court, he will spend the first five years in a covered prison, the rest of the term in a strict regime prison.
Before the verdict was announced, lawyer Radmila Abylova asked the court to "acquit" Khachatryan based on the fact that during the events in Meshali, he "did not participate in them", "was at home".
However, State Prosecutor Jovdet Mehraliev pointed out that the testimony of witnesses and victims confirmed that Khachatryan was among the persons who attacked the residents of Meshali.
Khachatryan himself said that he is "just a resident of the village of Badara." He swore by God that he had not committed crimes and said that may "Allah punish those who committed these crimes." ---06B---
