Namazov: Government Unable to Stop Us
Government pressure on the public movement EL is unproductive and futile, as was told to Objective TV by the leader of this organization, Eldar Namazov.
According to him, members of the movement do not create applications designed to irritated officials, but rather work with people on the ground, under the Constitution, not to exceed authority.
Unlike government and opposition political parties, EL works with the electorate. If the government work with officials and police, and the opposition work with the protest electorate, EL works with all sectors of the population.
"Today, there is no category of "happy people." Even the entrepreneurs closest to power are robbed 80% by customs officers, tax inspectors, law enforcement officers and so on. Doctors, teachers and representatives of other budget structures get very little money, while elderly people get miserable pensions. Young people are mostly out of work and do not have conditions for healthy leisure."
“EL is a national movement, not an office party. The owner took away our room under pressure, as he was forced to cancel the contract with us. However, our supporters have offered us four other offices. For 17 days we have established regional offices in 50 districts and cities of the country, which shows our potential," said Namazov. He predicted that by the end of April the organization would be fully structured. In the middle of May, there will be a republican meeting of EL, and later, a broad discussion of the possibility of creating a National Council with the participation of all political forces interested in reform.
The social movement EL is not afraid of the authorities. Lies and insults to the organization's leaders, in government media, talk about the powerlessness and anger of the authorities.
"Our projects are feasible in any situation and not radical. Several times the police and local authorities tried to prevent the implementation of our activities, and it was necessary to announce an online broadcast for high-ranking officials in the comfort of their rooms, to observe our meeting. Our cause is just, as we want real change and achieve it. If the authorities show no interest in reform, the responsibility for the consequences will be on them," said Namazov. -17D-
