A project to train regional youth for blogging
At the Media Center of the Institute of Freedom and Safety (IRFS) on Tuesday a press conference was held on the results of the project "Improving the skills of young people in the regional media, social networks and the expansion of blogging activity."
The project was implemented by the Regional Centre for Human Rights and the Media.
The project, supported by the U.S. Embassy, ?included two days of training in the Agdam and Goranboy regions with more than 40 young people.
On the first day of the classes, the Head of the Caucasus Media Studies, Anar Orujov, conducted training on blogging, creating and maintaining blogs, using social networks, and blogs covering social, economic and legal issues.
On the second day of the training the lawyer of IREX-Azerbaijan, Alasgar Mammadli, made the youth aware of the basic rules of journalism and the principles of freedom of expression, choice of subject, enhancing the reader's interest, reporting, the right to information, the methods of obtaining information (inquiries, appeals to the court in case of failure in providing information), as well as possibilities of the media in promoting human rights.
As a result of the project each participant became active on Facebook and Twitter. In addition, the project participants created four videos and 18 written blogs.
At the completion of the project there was a general meeting of its members in Barda. The most active bloggers received certificates. -06D-
