Abutalibov Continues Attack on Newsstands
It looks like Mayor Hajibala Abutalibov ignores treatment of media executives and journalists' organizations, requesting a meeting. Recall that the editors are concerned about the actions of the City Hall to replace the network of newsstands by trade stalls.
Particularly intense is the setting of these trade stalls in the city center. They appear almost every 50-100 meters, blocking the passage way of the townspeople.
Yesterday such a monster "landed" on the sidewalk of Sahil Park, blocking the road survey and people passing on the traffic lights on R. Behbudov Street.
Several years ago, the first wave of destruction of newsstands was carried out by Abutalibov just under the pretext that they interfered with pedestrians.
The new kiosks have practically no newspapers and it becomes clear that the main goal of "improvement works" is the destruction of the distribution network of newspapers, mostly independent ones.
Recall that the August 15 letter to the Mayor noted that "the installation of new kiosks is illegal: no change was in the law on the stalls, and their replacement is based on oral instructions in crude and violent forms. Gasid Firm that for decades has been selling periodicals is at the brink of bankruptcy, being not able to pay the editors, resulting in serious losses for newspapers and magazines."
Despite the allotted 7-day period for a response, Abutalibov still remains silent. -0 -
