At the trial in the case of the generals of the former Ministry of National Security
On Tuesday, February 21, in the Sabunchu court continued preliminary hearing in the case of three former Generals MNB and a large group of officers of the dissolved departments of the country. The defendant Generals are Subahir Gurbanov, Teymur Guliyev and Natavan Mirvetova, as well as senior officers: Fuzuli Aliyev, Zaur Mamedov, Natik Alyev, Farhad Atayev, Anar Shiraliyev, Eshgin Aliyev, and Elshad Azizov. The trial is taking place behind the closed doors. After the meeting, the lawyers told reporters that petitioned to send Subahir Gurbanov to treatment. However, the court upheld the request unconsidered. The court ordered the hearing on the merits for 28 February. These officers are accused of serious crimes over the years, including extortion, fraud, racketeering, illegal surveillance, arrest and so forth. As a result of their activities the individuals, businesses and organizations have been caused a multi-million dollar damage. On the case have been arrested more than 20 high-ranking officers, including four Generals. Now there is a trial in the case of another group of workers of MNS led by the General Akif Chovdarov. -02D-

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony.
