Baku/17.02.23/Turan: Activist Bakhtiyar Hajiyev, who is on a 40th day of hunger strike, was visited on Friday evening at the Medical Institution of the Penitentiary Service by Professor of Medicine Adyl Geybulla.
The activist again refused the infusion and continues a dry hunger strike , Geibulla told Turan. According to him, Hajiyev has lost a lot of weight and has a nervous breakdown.
In turn, lawyer Agyl Laij said that consideration of Hajiyev's appeal against the refusal to transfer him to house arrest was scheduled for February 20.
It should be noted that since February 16, Hajiyev went on a dry hunger strike demanding his release. He started the protest action on January 9th. --21D06--

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
