Cause of Explosion at Radio Plant Not Named
Baku / 07.02.18 / Turan: The cause of the explosion on February 6 at the production association Ufug, which is located near the Radio Components plant, is not yet clear. This conclusion follows from the report of the Ministry of Defense Industry, which owns the enterprise in the Khatai district of Baku.
"The explosion was the result of a fire that arose in the back room with a territory of 120 square meters," the report said.
According to the same source, electricity and gas were not used in this room.
In turn, in the message of the Ministry of Emergency Situations it is said that there was an explosion in a warehouse of pyrotechnics, with an area of 240 square meters.
Note that this is not the first such case in the defense industry enterprises and military facilities in the recent period.
So, in July 2016 there was a strong explosion at the weapons factory in Shirvan, where several people were killed and more than 20 were injured,
According to some reports, the explosion occurred in the warehouse of the finished product of the arms factory during shipment.
In August 2017, an explosion occurred in the ammunition depot in the Khizi region of the country, resulting in deaths and injuries. Within a day the shells scattered and destroyed several houses, outbuildings and other objects.
