Chief executive of the region of Salyan dismissed
By the orrder of the President, Tahir Karimov was dismissed from the post of the chief executive of Salyan region. Sevindik Hatamov, who before was the head of executive power of Yardimli region, was appointed instead of him.
Karimov was known for his outrageous actions, such as acts of public worship of his students, who lined a corridor with roses in their hands for him. -02D-

During search and operational activities, on January 30 at 11:20, 16.4 kg of drugs were discovered and seized in the area of the "Geytapa" border post, located on the Iran-Azerbaijan border. According to the Azerbaijan Border Service, this prevented an attempt to smuggle into Azerbaijan 11.3 kg of marijuana, 5.1 kg of opium, and 1,990 methadone M-40 pills from Iran.
