Court in No Hurry to Consider Faig Amirov’s Appeal
The Court of Appeal has not yet appointed a hearing in the case of the arrest of the financial director of the newspaper Azadlig and assistant leader of PFPA Faig Amirov, his lawyer, Aghil Lahijov told Turan. The reason for the delay is unclear.
Recall that the authorities have accused Amirov of having links with Gulen supporters, a proof of which was two books supposedly found in the trunk of his car.
As it turned out, the books were thrown into the car by police, who detained Amirov in the street. In addition, the publication of these books in Azerbaijan was attended by representatives of the authorities and the authorities distributed them themselves.
However, Amirov was charged with inciting religious hatred and even declared so-called Emir of Gulen supporters in Azerbaijan.
Thus, the authorities want to get close to the leader of the Popular Front Party, Ali Kerimli, and arrest him, according to many observers. -16 / 05D-
