Court Releases Grandson of Vice-Premier Who Killed Two People
Baku / 03.08.18 / Turan: Baku Court of Appeal on August 2 commuted the grandson of Deputy Prime Minister Ali Hasanov, Nayil Allahverdiyev, who committed a traffic accident that killed two people.
According to his lawyer Mukhtar Mustafayev, the Court of Appeal reduced the sentence of imprisonment from 6 to 5 years. At the same time, it softened the prison regime and transferred him to a colony-settlement. This means that the man serving his punishment can leave the colony for 12 hours a day.
On August 3, 2017 Allahverdiyev committed an accident on Heydar Aliyev Avenue. Driving a Mercedes Gelandewagen at a high speed, he crashed into another car and knocked down pedestrians on the sidewalk. As a result, two people were killed, and two more, Turkish citizens, were seriously injured.
On December 18, the Baku Grave Crimes Court sentenced Allahverdiyev to 6 years in prison. -06D-
