Directors of two housing construction cooperatives arrested
Baku/27.12.22/Turan: As a part of the criminal case investigated by the General Prosecutor's Office against corruption, arrested the heads of two construction firms over the sale of the same flats to several citizens.
The Prosecutor General's Office said that on 26 December the court ordered the arrest of Rafig Nasirov and Emil Samandarov, directors of the "Hayan E" housing and construction cooperatives.
They are accused of repeatedly selling the same flats in a building under construction on Rasluzadeh street in Khyrdalan.
Nasirov and Samandarov are charged under Article 178.3.2 (large-scale fraud), Article 308.2 (abuse of office with grave consequences) and Article 313 (forgery in office) of the Criminal Code. The investigation is ongoing. -05D06-

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony. Starting from November 25, dedicated traffic lanes allocated for COP29 conference participants will lose their exclusive status and will be open to all vehicles, according to the Land Transport Agency (AYNA).
