Elchin Hasanov and Ibrahim Türksoy sentenced to corrective labor
Baku / 17.11.20 / Turan: On November 16, the trial in the case of freelance reporters Elchin Hasanov and Ibrahim Turksoy ended in the Mingachevir City Court.
A lawsuit against them was filed as a private criminal charge by the head of the city housing and exploitation department, Shahriyar Mustafayev. He demanded to bring them under Art. 147.1. (Libel) and 148 (insult) of the Criminal Code.
The reason for the lawsuit is critical publications about this official and the city leadership, as well as about corruption in Mingachevir.
The court sentenced both to 1 year of correctional labor. The plaintiff was found to be unavailable for comment. — 06D-
