Employees "Azadlig" picket the company "Gasid"
Employees of "Azadlig" newspaper held another protest rally in front of the press distribution company "Gasid." They came to the office with the slogan: "Give back our money!"
For a long time this state press distribution company refuses to pay the debt to the newspaper. For many months the debt totaled 70,000 manat. At the same time, the government monopolized the sphere of press distribution, and prevent journalists or street sellers to sell newspapers.
Due to such a situation the country's leading opposition newspaper has faced great economic hardships, and cannot pay the salaries since April, said Acting editor-in-chief, Rahim Hajiyev.
Head of the "Gasid" company Mirkazym Kazymov received Hajiyev, and once again promised to take measures to repay the debt.
In turn, Hajiyev said that the protests will continue, if the situation with the payment of the debt does not change.
The debt of "Gasid" is since mid of 2012, and since then the staff of "Azadlig" repeatedly held actions of protest.—06D--
