Faraj Kerimli sentenced to 6.5 years in prison
Today Baku Serious Crimes Court published verdict to Faraj Kerimli, deputy chairman of the party "Musavat." The court found him guilty under the Article 234.4.3 of the Criminal Code (large-scale drug trafficking), and sentenced him to 6.5 years in prison.
F.Kerimli refused the final word, saying that he sees no need for this in court, where laws are violated.
Earlier, the prosecutor asked to condemn F.Kerimli to 7.5 years in prison.
* Brothers Siraj and Faraj Kerimli were arrested on 17 and 23 July 2014 on charges of drug possession.
On August 18, 2014 the international human rights organization Amnesty International announced Faraj and Siraj Kerimli "prisoners of conscience." On March 12 court sentenced Siraj Kerimli to 6 years in prison.-06D-
