On Thursday the Head of NGO "For Human Rights" Eynulla Fatullayev visited the arrested human rights activist Ilham Amiraslanov in pre-trial prison.
The visit took place at the request of the local office of the OSCE, after the request of the “Kura” civil society. As a result of the meeting, Fatullayev will prepare a report to the OSCE.
Today the lawyer Samir Isayev told Turan that he finally received an official medical report from the medical unit of the pre-trial prison about the rupture of Amiraslanov’s eardrum. Being asked if this can be grounds for criminal prosecution, the lawyer replied that the conclusion of the Bureau of Forensics can be grounds.
A member of the “Kura” civil society Oktay Gyulalyev reported that prosecutors took testimony from Amiraslanov on his arrest and beatings.
Earlier Amiraslanov said that after his arrest on June 8, he was severely beaten by the police, resulting in a damaged ear, and had severe pain in his ribs and internal organs. Medical examinations were conducted three times after complaints to the Ministry of Justice and General Prosecutor’s Office, and statements from the “Kura” civil society. However, until now, medical examinations did not confirm any physical injuries.
