Baku / 09.05.18 / Turan: At noon on May 9, in the central mosque of Baku, Taza Pir, the farewell ceremony was held for the editor of the Echo newspaper, Rauf Talyshinsky, who suddenly died the night before at the age of 61.
The ceremony was attended by Rauf"s relatives, friends and colleagues (journalists), and also by a number of high-ranking state officials, including the head of the executive power of the Sabayil district, Eldar Azizov, and the deputy head of the State Border Service, Farhad Tagizadeh, in particular.
Talyshinsky was buried in the new cemetery known as Gurd Gapysy (Wolf Gates).
The question of who will become the editor-in-chief of the country's leading Russian-language newspaper is still open. -02B-

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
