Heat Will Continue for Next Few Days
Forecasters report that the hot weather in Baku and Absheron peninsula will continue for several more days. They advise to avoid sun exposure during the daytime. By the end of the week, it is expected that temperatures will be 23-27 degrees at night and 36-38 during the day. In some areas of Absheron, the temperature will reach 40 degrees. The water temperature on Absheron beaches will warm to a record of 27-30 degrees.
In areas of the country, the weather will be similar. The air temperature during the night will be 21-26, and 35-39 degrees during the day, while in some places up to 41 degrees. In the mountains during the night, it will be 13-18, and 26-31 degrees during the day.
On August 7th and 8th, the hot weather will create discomfort for dependent people, forecasters warn. According to the Baku ambulance service, over the past two days in the capital there has been increase in the number of cases of sunstroke, and eight people turned to the ambulance. As part of the struggle against illegal migration in Baku city, operative actions were carried out at different addresses. The Interior Ministry reports that employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration identified and detained 34 foreigners without documents giving the right to reside and stay on the territory of Azerbaijan.
