Hilal Mamedov is not allowed to meet with his lawyer
Lawyer Anar Gasimli, despite all efforts, could not meet with his client, Hilal Mamedov, the editor of the newspaper "Talysh Sado."
According to the lawyer, on 21 June at 22:00, he went to the Nizami 37th District Police station and presented a warrant. However, the lawyer was not allowed to meet with Mamedov, and was not even permitted to read the documents regarding his detention.
The lawyer regarded this as a gross violation of the rights of his client.
Gasimli said that Hilal Mamedov was delivered to the Nizami District Police Station early in the morning of June 22.
The lawyer also stated that Mamedov was subjected to physical pressure, and was sent for medical examination.
According to the police, five grams of heroin were found with Mamedov during his arrest, and his lawyer said he is being accused of having more heroine in his house.-05B-
