Images from webcams can be used in the investigation of complaints during election
The official state of the "Azerbaijan" newspaper published the text of the Rules of the establishment and use of web cameras at polling stations approved by the CEC.
Webcams will increase public confidence in elections.
According to the rules, web cameras should be installed in areas so that the whole process of issuing ballots is covered, including putting them into ballot boxes, and the counting votes.
Video from the cameras should be stored for five years, and can be used in the investigation of complaints.
Earlier, the head of the press service of the CEC, Azer Saryev, said that in the upcoming presidential elections in October, about 20 per cent of polling stations will be equipped with web cameras.
In previous elections in Azerbaijan, web cameras were installed in 10 percent of polling stations.
The total number of polling stations in the 125th electoral districts is about 5300.-06D—
