Interior Ministry Filed Lawsuit against Blogger Mehman Huseynov
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has filed a lawsuit against the blogger Mehman Huseynov, said his lawyer Elchin Sadigov.
The matter will be discussed in the Surakhani District Court on February 10 under the chairmanship of Ceyhun Gasimov. However, the prosecution has not received the indictment and will insist on the postponement, the lawyer said.
The blogger himself told Turan he does not know what the Interior Ministry is accusing him of, but he is sure it is related to his journalistic activities. “The authorities want to silence me and find new methods every time,” he said.
Recall that on January 9 Huseynov was kidnapped by several persons in civilian clothes in the center of Baku, and for a few hours he was subjected to moral and physical abuse. The next day he was taken to the police and charged with insubordination. The court found the blogger guilty and fined him at 200 manats.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs is displeased that the blogger has accused their colleagues of kidnapping and torture, and filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office. -16B-

Amid the bustling scenes of this year’s COP29 climate conference, a protest against whaling and deep-sea mining, organized by a group calling itself the FINS Initiative, drew significant attention from delegates and observers. However, questions have arisen about the legitimacy of the group, as an internet search yields little evidence of its existence beyond scattered mentions.

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
