Investigation in the case of Akram Aylisli transferred to the Baku Prosecutor’s Office
The investigation of the lawsuit against the writer Akram Aylisli was transferred the Baku City Prosecutor's Office. On 6 September the writer together with his lawyer were summoned to the prosecutor's office of the capital, where they were told that the investigation will be conducted by Asem Safaraliev, said a lawyer Elchin Sadigov. On March 30 this year, a lawsuit under the Article 221.1 (hooliganism) started against Aylisli. On April 21 against Aylisliwasput forward another charge under the Article 315.1 (use of violence against a representative of authorities), in which he faces imprisonment of up to three years. A 79-year-old writer is accused of violence against a frontier worker in Baku airport. Lawsuit was launched by the transport police of the Interior Ministry, and then transferred to the Yasamal district prosecutor's office, and now - in the city. Aylisli is the author of the acclaimed book "Stone Dreams" about the Karabakh conflict, whichwasaccepted by many people in Azerbaijan, including the authorities, as a pro-Armenian. The incident occurred at the airport when Aylisliwas going to the international literary forum, where he was to make a presentation. His trip was disrupted. -06D--

During search and operational activities, on January 30 at 11:20, 16.4 kg of drugs were discovered and seized in the area of the "Geytapa" border post, located on the Iran-Azerbaijan border.
