Judicial-Legal Council Punishes More Than Twenty Judges
Baku / 03.03.18 / Turan: The Judicial-Legal Council considered more than 30 appeals related to facts of corruption, bureaucracy and other violations by judges in 2017.
According to the Council, in the light of the President's decree on the humanization of punishment from February 2017, the number of persons arrested was reduced by 25% compared to the previous year.
The number of those released from arrest under this order increased by 15%. At the same time, the number of court decisions on the extension of the term of arrest was reduced.
At the same time, the work of 130 judges, whose powers were eliminated in 2017, was assessed. For serious violations, the powers of 20 judges, out of which seven were chairmen of the courts, were terminated.
Six chairmen of courts were transferred to lower-level work.
Twelve judges were brought to administrative responsibility, and the authority of one judge is terminated ahead of time.-05D-
