The development of education, the reasons for the reduction in fish stocks, and the possible impact of the alleged sanctions on Turkey on Azerbaijan and other topics are in the center of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the country's achievements in the field of education. It is noted that the education development strategy laid down by Heydar Aliyev is successfully continuing. The author believes that the successes in Azerbaijani education are most noticeable in recent years in Ganja.
According to the State Examination Center, 2,033 graduates of the 2018-2019 academic year from Ganja took part in close examinations and 1,192, or 58.63%, entered universities.
36 graduates entered universities in Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, Turkey, Russia and other countries.
Ganja"s students also take an active part in subject Olympiads and won 10 gold, 15 silver and 20 bronze medals at the republican knowledge competitions in the 2018-2019 academic year.
The website Marja.az publishes material on the reduction of the country's fish stocks over the past 15 years in an interview with the director of the Department of Biodiversity of the Ministry of Ecology Hikmet Alizadeh.
In recent years, more effective measures have been taken to increase fish stocks. Previously, fish hatcheries released fry weighing 1 gram into water bodies, and the probability of their survival was 1 percent. Recently, however, fry weighing 5-10 grams, grown on the farm of the Ministry of Ecology, were bred in the Kura. The probability of their survival is 70-80 percent. The release of 100-gram fry guarantees almost 100-percent survival.
According to Alizadeh, pollution of lakes and other water resources also reduces fish stocks. In addition, poachers are also active during the forbidden period.
The Moderator.az website discusses the possible consequences for Azerbaijan of the introduction of Western sanctions against Turkey due to the war in Syria.
The imposition of sanctions against Turkey may lead to the devaluation of the lira and weakening the country's economy. This may affect the trade between Azerbaijan and Turkey. A drop in the lira will lead to a rise in the price of Azerbaijani products in Turkey and a decrease in demand for it. -0-
