Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) and the Ministry of Environment contradict each other
Forest fires in Lerik and Lankaran regions of the country, which started two days ago, have been localized, MES reported. According to the MES, the fire covered about 30 hectares of the forest belt near the village of Piran in 35 km from the regional center of Lerik. Personnel and equipment of the fire protection squadron of MES were attracted for fire fighting. Employees of the forest farm also participated in the fire extinguishing. Currently fire has been localized, and measures continue to extinguish smoldering.
The fire in the Hirkan highlands national park, which is only 8 km away from the district center Lankaran was also localized. Here the flame covered 5 hectares of forest.
At the same time, the Ministry of Environment claims that the fire covered much smaller area.
Neither MES nor the Ministry of Environment not called the causes of forest fires. According to local residents, the fire in Lerik could become careless use of fire in the manufacture of charcoal.
A few years ago as a result of large fire burned about 15 hectares of shrubs in Shirvan National park.-06D-
